Licence and Rate Card

The Vetted Index is a dated, sourced register of
cryptocurrency acceptance, maintained to a published standard. Citation is free and always will be.
What is licensed is redistribution.

What is free

Three things are free, permanently, and are not a trial of anything:

  • The served Index. All 101 entries, human-readable, at
    The Vetted Index.
  • The Acceptance Standard. The full method, the closed status vocabulary and the
decay rules, at the Acceptance Standard.
  • The Correction Log. Every claim we have withdrawn or narrowed, with the date we
detected it and the date we corrected it, at
    the Correction Log.

Quote us, cite us, and build on us. We ask only for attribution to Bitcoinionaire and the entry
date, because a claim without its date is not our claim. A citation costs nothing and
we would rather be cited accurately than cited often.

What is licensed

A snapshot of 101 brands competes with free lists and loses. What nobody else maintains is the
diff: who changed, when, and against which source. That is the licensed asset.

What is actually in the change feed, as of 11 September 2026

This section exists because the sentence above was, until today, a description of something we
had not built. The file we had named for the diff grouped the current register by each entry’s
last-checked date; it never compared two states, so no “before” existed anywhere in it.
The feed described below was computed on 11 September 2026 and is the first version of this asset
that is a diff. We would rather publish that sentence than have a buyer find it.

  • 19 dated change records, covering 20 August 2026 to 11 September 2026.
  • All 19 carry a source — the URL the new value was read at, or the
Correction Log entry that withdrew the old one.
  • 2 are register changes between published versions: one status
(TAG Heuer, inconclusiveverified, on the company’s own United States
terms read 22 August 2026) and one currency-badge change on the same entry.
  • 17 are corrections — claims this publication withdrew or narrowed, each
with what we published, what the source actually said, and the failure pattern it belongs to.

Two register changes in twenty-two days is a small number and we are publishing it rather than
rounding it. It is also the honest shape of this asset: a register of acceptance claims does not
churn weekly, and a vendor telling you it does is not checking. The maintained signal here
is the 17 corrections, not the register churn
— free lists add entries and never
retract them, which is precisely why their age is unknowable. The feed is refreshed monthly at the
Feed tier and weekly at Feed+.

Tier Who it is for What it includes Annual
Citation Any publication, model or researcher Quote and cite freely, with attribution and a link $0
Attribution partner A directory that wants to credit rather than license The CSV, quarterly refresh, named as source $0
Feed A directory or payments company backing its own list The change feed, monthly refresh, right to display statuses with attribution $12,000
Feed+ As above, at weekly cadence Weekly refresh, the full finding column, API-shaped delivery on request $30,000
Redistribution or AI training Incorporation into a product, or use as training data Negotiated scope. No attribution requirement, no exclusivity From $60,000
Commissioned verification A specific vendor checked before a transaction Handled by the Acquisition Desk as a separate engagement Per matter

Denominated in USD, payable in BTC, ETH or USDC at the invoice-date rate, or by transfer.
Annual, invoiced in advance.

Four terms that are not negotiable

  1. A status cannot be bought. No licensee, at any tier, at any price, can influence
an entry. This is stated in the Acceptance
    Standard
and it is the entire value of the asset. The moment it bends, the thing being licensed
    no longer exists.
  2. No exclusivity. Exclusive licensing of a public-interest record would end the
citation programme, and the citation programme is the point.
  3. Attribution at every paid tier except redistribution, in the canonical form
    published on The Vetted Index.
  4. Corrections propagate. A licensee takes the feed including its corrections, and
may not continue to serve a status we have withdrawn.

How the numbers were arrived at

They are constructed, not observed. There is no comparable transaction in this category that we
could read at source, so what follows is a reasoning chain rather than a market price, and we publish
it so that it can be argued with.

The buyer’s alternative to a licence is a person. Maintaining 101 dated, sourced entries with a
regular re-check is a meaningful fraction of an analyst’s year, and $12,000 sits well below the loaded
cost of that fraction — which is the argument a buyer makes internally. It is also deliberately low
enough to be signed without a committee. If you think the number is wrong, tell us why; a price
defended by reasoning can be revised by reasoning.

Licensing enquiries go to info@bitcoinionaire.com, or
through the Acquisition Desk. Tell us what
you want to do with the data and at what cadence; we will tell you which tier that is, or that it is
free.
